The Imaginary Traveler is 184 pages packed full of poetry, prose, and imaginative artwork. Let me say up front that this is not a book for those looking for light and sickly-sweet poems. It dives deep into the divine madness of love, lust, and obsession. It is a retrospective look at love’s dizzying apex, and the subsequent long fall, and sickening impact with a harsh reality.

Your hands have never touched me,
and yet you seem to have hit all the right spots.
Those seen and unseen, both inside and out,
places no one else has ever reached…

The poems are unsparingly introspective; by turns both beautiful and brutal, and sometimes beautifully brutal. We look at at the memories of a relationship through the cracked pane and jagged glass shards of the emotional aftermath of lost love and unanswered questions. Massiel guides us through the desolate landscape of a heart betrayed, and Jorgensen’s vivid illustrations add further impact to the writing.

for a pill that kills softly,
the quietest of deaths…
no dreams left worth hoping,
no hopes worthy of being dreamt,
no more why and wherefore,

Though much of the book delves into dark places of the heart, there are moments of beauty and hopefulness scattered throughout.

massage my heart back to life,
clear the debris from these lungs,
allow me to breathe love
in and out of this body once again.

I’m glad I read The Imaginary Traveler. It was a journey well worth taking, and I recommend it to anyone who loves poetry and isn’t afraid to wander down all the twisted pathways where love and lust might lead.

A series of poems, mostly painful and bitter, on the subject of love. It is filled with imagery, and the illustrations beautifully exemplify them. The author's descriptive ability is able to shock and pain, bringing up your most poignant memories.

Quintus Septimius Florens Tertullianus, anglicised as Tertullian, (ca. 160 – ca. 220 A.D.)[1] was a prolific early Christian Berber author[2] and the first to produce an extensive corpus of Latin Christian literature. Some of Tertullian's ideas were not acceptable to the orthodox Church; in later life he became a Montanist.

Unidentified edition -- source is Schaff 1885 ANF

This Kindle version is obviously Philip Schaff, Ante-Nicene Fathers Vol. 3 (Eerdman's)(1885 edition, reprint by Christian Ethereal Library, undated). The headings which editors added match Schaff's version. So too the text, as far as I checked.

As the prior comment said, I too enjoy reading on the Kindle. Much more accessible. You can highlight and add notes for later reference, and search on them as well. This book was written by Tertullian in 207 AD about Marcion, a heretic whose movement almost grew larger than orthodox Christianity. Marcionism taught the complete abrogation of the Law given Moses, and not just circumcision.

Finally Something NEW in money magic!

A lot of wealth magic advice seems to amount to the same thing: "blah blah blah, green candle, blah blah blah dollar bill, blah blah blah, wear this kitchen ingredient in your shoe."

But if it hasn't escaped your notice, the world; particularly the world of wealth; has been significantly disrupted of late. So clearly a new modus is called for.

Enter Financial Sorcery.

Contained within is practical advice, secret wealth hacks and some real-world learnings from a successful business owner... who also happens to be one of the premier voices in modern magic. It is a truly potent combination.

As far as the actual MAGIC is concerned... the Jupiter glyphs are ASTOUNDING... they represent a completely new addition to the canon of Planetary Magic and alone are worth the price of your admission.

Some of the practical advice is really only applicable in the USA but that's a minor quibble that will only affect a minority of readers. This is the inevitable reality of having a finite number of pages in a book.

Believe me, you haven't read anything like this in the occult world. Buy it.

Necessary Reading for Magicians and Witches

Financial Sorcery is the kind of book that needed to be here about twenty or so years ago. Too many practitioners have a poor relationship with wealth.. the kind where they and wealth aren't really speaking. This book helps turn that around.

This book is equal parts practical wealth strategies, and practical wealth sorcery. Both are essential. Anyone can do a wealth ritual, but getting advice and resources that work in order to really build wealth is sadly lacking in the community. Lots of really good, and really practical advice on a mundane level.

Now, if you want some strait sorcery to go with your practical advice, you can't beat the Lightening Glyphs, or ritually moving your set point. Those alone are worth the price of the book.

This book is a great starting place for every witch or magician who wants to really get a hold on their financial present and future, but who might have trouble relating to other books on the subject. It's about more than a once off spell to get out of a jam. It's about building a strategy to build wealth for you whole life and using some pretty powerful workings to back it up.

Chapter 5 in this book is really the only chapter you need. The other chapters use sociological factors to shift one's thinking. That is great and all, but I was mainly interested in the sigils and that is exactly what I received.

This book goes by a simple formula to make it work. Here it goes:

a) Rule 1: Thursday is the day of Jupiter.

(For those who are unaware of Jupiter's powers, he is the god that brings increase and significant prosperity into your life in odd forms. Of course, working is important, but this brings all of your efforts on another level. The secret is being open to receiving opportunities and not close-minded. I cannot stress that enough).

b) Rule 2: On Thursday night, the first hour after Sunset (IMPORTANT-TIMING IS EVERYTHING TO ANCIENT ENTITIES, pour a glass of wine or grape juice, not water, light a money incense cone )if you have one.

c) Rule 3: Draw one of the sigils that best apply to your money situation through pages 80 and 86.

d) Rule 4: Raise your glass of wine in the air and the sigil and clear your mind of all negativity. And say the chant on page 76 and page 78.

Two Cents: After you are done with the chant, the author mentions you must bury the sigil in earth somewhere. If you live in an apartment complex, you don't want your neighbors to think you are weird so I would recommend to get a flower pot from Walmart and place some soil inside and bury the sigil that way. It is also important to talk about the powers of Jupiter with others to increase the effectiveness of the sigil and spell.

One important thing that the author fails to mention, is that this is still a form of money spell and for it to be the most effective, I would recommend doing this chant only for the first two Thursdays of each month. I say this because you will be doing it during the waxing moon phase ( increase spells) and the full moon phase (lunar phase is the most powerful).

You do not, I repeat do not want to do this chant the final Thursday of the month because the timing is off and that would be during the (waning phase) of the moon. The waning phase is when you ask for things to be removed from your life. So, again timing is important to ancient entities with certain duties.

Today is August 13, Thursday and it is a waxing phase. I am completing the Jupiter chant tonight when the sun sets. I am specifically asking for $7k which is owed to me and has been held up for a few months now.

The Bride Quest begins

Princess Brianna is stunned when her father's castle, Tullymullagh, is overtaken in a siege. She is horrified when King Henry declares she must wed one of the three sons of the mercenary, Gavin Fitzgerald, who conquered them. Brianna swears she "will wed only my one true love." So she sends the brothers on a quest. Whoever of the three that brings her a gift to make her laugh the longest is the one she will wed.

Luc Fitzgavin, the eldest, refuses to go on her foolish quest, infuriating Brianna to no end. He has but one desire, to receive the seal on his beloved Welsh estate, from his brutish father. Luc was once a great knight, who swore to give up his sword forever, after living through a great tragedy brought about by another's dishonorable intentions. He scorns the selfish Brianna's whim, believing her full of nonsense. But as he gets to know her, he starts to realize there is more to her than he previously thought. And he begins to realize much more is at stake here...his very heart.

Brianna and Luc are drawn to each other for reasons they can't understand. For Brianna is on a quest of her own: To return Tullymullagh to its rightful owner, her father. So he can live out his days in the home he built. Luc desires only to return to his beloved home in peace. Until suspicious events start to make them realize danger abounds. The two of them unite to try to solve the mysteries. Soon, it is evident someone wishes to harm them both. Rumors start to surface of a great treasure kept hidden, The Rose of Tullymullagh, and someone is determined to have the legendary piece for their very own.

Ms. Delacroix tries to write a great adventure and mystery here, but falls short in this reviewer's opinion. Brianna comes across as a spoiled little girl who can't stand to not always get her way. She does somewhat redeem herself in the end, but not quite enough. She also comes across as not being the brightest crayon in the box. There are a few instances where the reader is in total disbelief that she cannot see the obvious. The mystery was not much of one as it was figured out almost immediately upon being presented.

When the body count starts stacking up, the plot becomes contrived. It is almost as if Ms. Delacroix was running out of story and had to kill a few people to make her word count. But there are a few bright spots to the story. Luc comes across as a noble and honorable man, determined to do what is right and good, and to protect his lady at any cost. There are also some very funny scenes scattered throughout.

This tale drags at many points and is not one of Ms. Delacroix's best. It was almost a chore to even finish the book. Having read several other of her books, one can only hope this book is just a fluke and the rest of the Bride Quest series is better.

Not my type of story

I was really looking forward to this book, and the entire 'bride quest'series, but I didn't like most of the characters in 'The Princess'. I found Brianna a lukewarm heroine at best, throughout the book her childish efforts to deliberately misunderstand everything happening around her were exhausting. I did like the hero, Luc, and Ms. Delacroix wasted a fine character by inserting him into this slow-moving story. By the time the murders began, I was scanning each paragraph for the main idea and wishing the action would speed up, or the whole thing would just come to an end. Although I didn't like this story, I am going to try again with 'The Damsel' and 'The Heiress' and see if the 'bride quest' gets any better.

To win a princess...deny her quest

Brianna, an innocent princess fighting to save what her father worked all his life to build, sends three brothers out on a quest, but Luc, one of the brothers, was not going to have any of it. Brianna's trust in Luc was almost immediate, though. Maybe it was because he answered all her questions, truthfully, for the price of a "kiss". (so, of course, she asked a lot of questions). As for Connor, he taught his daughter a great lesson in love. A romance story within a romance story, how quaint. I enjoyed the book. Great writing Ms. Delacroix. My favorite of the 3.

Surprisingly, this is the first subject dictionary that addresses avant-garde artists and styles among the visual and performing arts. Prolific artist and author Kostelanetz ( Conversing with Cage , LJ 10/1/93) first develops a working definition of avant-garde art: it expresses aesthetic innovation, gains initial acceptance from a limited audience, and serves as inspiration to future artists. From this he selects for inclusion such artists and movements as Beckett, Cage, Bunuel, Abstract Expressionism, free jazz, and video art. All 681 entries are well written, and most include brief bibliographies. The work's strengths lie in its interdisciplinary approach, coverage of art produced from about 1850 to the present, and discussion of many minor and contemporary artists. Also, Kostelanetz's critical approach allows for discussion of the truly innovative side of artists like Andy Warhol while ignoring those aspects that fall outside his definition of the avant-garde. Finally, his work is currently priced within the budget of even small institutions and individuals interested in the arts. A worthy addition to the art and culture collection of all libraries.

In the words of the author, a prolific writer and student of avant-garde topics, "this book was written not just to be consulted but to be read from beginning to end." It draws upon his knowledge of literature, art, architecture, performing arts, movements, and esthetics. He is admittedly opinionated in his judgment of artists and their works. The artists included are mainly twentieth century, with no birth date earlier than Edward Lear's (1812). They include such well-known subjects as Muybridge, Bierce, and Stravinsky and such contemporary figures as environmental-artist Christo and performance-artist Laurie Anderson. The entries for Kinetic Art, Serial Music, Mixed-Means Theater, Zaum (poetry), SoHo, and Something Else Press create a rich image of a period.

Entries are alphabetically arranged, with dates and alternative names. The work is highly readable. One entry leads to another quite seamlessly through the use of asterisks placed after the mention of related entries (e.g., Slonimsky, Nicholas leads to Var{Š}ese, Edgard; Ives, Charles; Dada; and Constructivism). There are cross-references to appropriate headings, "Kovacs, Ernie see Television." Most entries include one or more references at the end, and the "Postface" includes a bibliography of 19 works consulted. The initials of nine scholars, authors, and critics appear on the entries they have contributed. Small black-and-white photographs add interest.

This work is shaped by names so familiar that, in some cases, they no longer seem avant-garde: Eisenstein in film, James Joyce in literature, Merce Cunningham in dance, Buckminster Fuller in architecture, Mary Quant in fashion, Allen Ginsberg in poetry. Some entries, such as Futurism (Russian), lead to numerous related entries that may be less familiar.

This small volume, bringing together a wealth of information on esthetic innovation, will make avant-garde art more accessible to everyone and will be a welcome addition to art reference collections.

Not as accurate or complete as it could have been.

Sorry to say, this dictionary of the avant-garde has it's gaps, misinterpretations, and inaccuracies. It is quite valuable for the most part, but the aforementioned problems should be addressed before the next edition hits the racks. There is scant mention of free improvisation, Derek Bailey (and his many contemporaries), Paul Klee, Al Hansen (and many other valuable Fluxus artists indivudually) and much else, but there are referances to one-off a-g practitioners (such as that Republican apologist P.J. O'Rourke) and others. Weird...maybe RK was trying to use his dictionary to stir up debate, but that's not what dictionaries are fundamentally for, I think.
