From School Library Journal
Adult/High School–Through lavish visuals and concise text, Biggar describes the painstaking process her team, under George Lucass direction, used to create the costumes worn in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Six chapters feature outfits categorized by role: Jedi vs. Sith, Royalty, Military, Galactic Senate, Slaves, and Rogues & Bounty Hunters. An entire chapter is devoted to the gorgeous clothes for Queen Padme Amidala. Because the costumes were custom fitted, the actors model those created for their roles. The author begins each chapter with an account of the design challenges, fabric selection, and fabrication of the costumes and special props for each role. The oversized format and archival, quality photographs enable readers to study the workmanship, design, and textiles of each highlighted costume. Descriptive sidebars and captions often include quotes by the actor who wore it, Lucas, or other key players. These quotes enrich the book exponentially, as do the double-page collages of film stills and design sketches. The descriptions, albeit brief, of digital costumes and cloth simulation are fascinating. A complete visual index of attire worn in each episode is offered in lieu of a traditional index. Aficionados wont be the only audience drawn to this compelling tribute–readers interested in fashion, design, film, and photography are bound to find it rewarding.–Claudia C. Must have for anyone interested in Costumes and/or Star Wars
By Tiana
I'm lucky enough to have the special edition, which is signed by Trish Biggar and comes with fabric swatches from the same bolts of fabric they used on several of the costumes including Darth Vader's cape. It also includes a special DVD with behind the scenes of several of the costumes and the creation of Darth Vader's famous costume in ROTS. Did you know that until ROTS Darth Vader's mask had never been symmetrical? Well now you do!
It's an amazing book, filled with detailed pictures of the costumes from the prequel films. While these films may not have been that great story (or character) wise, the costumes are spectacular! As a costumer, this book has been one of my biggest inspirations. Reading about the process of designing, the challenges, and the unique sources of some of the inspiration and fabrics is fascinating!
This book is a must read for anyone, weather you're a Star Wars fan, costumer, or both!

Queen Amidala was an amazing role model to my eleven-year old self
By Liz Osborn
I coveted this book from afar for over ten years before taking the plunge, and it is well-worth every penny. Queen Amidala was an amazing role model to my eleven-year old self, and I continue to be interested in her world. I don't make costumes myself, but I do enjoy looking at them. High-resolution photos on the internet are few and far between, because there simply wasn't a means for it in 2001. But this book is full of them.
Do yourself a favor: if you've been waffling over this one, just do it. You won't regret it, and it'll be a lovely addition to your collection. Or bookshelf, or coffee table. Wherever you keep your favorite books.

-5 additional gatefolds
-7 booklets
The P-9 Costume Overlay
Cut From a Different Cloth: Digital Costumes

Postcard sheet of costume details
Paper doll fold-out
Footwear wrap
Star Wars A Costume Collection
-Authentic Wookiee buckle replica
-Vellum envelope with a fabric swatch from the material used in Darth Vader’s cape
-Dressing a Galaxy DVD
-JAK folder of sixteen of Trisha Biggar’s favorite costumes, which contains actual swatches cut from the same fabrics as the costumes (this is the highlight of the Deluxe edition - but there are not swatches for every costume in the folder. I've read the that the swatches are randomly selected).
One important thing to note:
-----------------------------------
This Deluxe Edition originally was published in 2005. There are 2,500 copies made, of which the first 1,000 were signed by the author / costume designer Trisha Biggar. I ordered mine in December of 2013 and I received #80, thus mine was signed! So keep in mind that they are NOT shipping these in numerical order and you still have a chance to get a signed copy. :)
