I was really excited when I read one of the characters with the same name as mine. The ending left me hanging and wanting more, but at the same time thrilled that there will be a part II. Thicker Than Water is an energetic read focusing on the relationships between four friends and the many ventures that they dare to encounter... This is my first Takerra Allen read, and I highly commend her on taking an age old plot and portraying it in an impressive and superbly written novel. Ms. Allen incorporates suspense and a tad of mystery to make this an even more pleasurable and intriguing tale... About the Author
Takerra Allen, author of Thicker Than Water releases her sophmore novel, Heaven's Hell. Takerra Allen was born in Jersey City, NJ and resides in Somerset, NJ. In addition to being an Author, the 25 year old is the CEO of an all female Entertainment Company entitled Heaven Inc Urban Entertainment, and the half sister to the late renowned Tupac Shakur (sharing the same biological father, former Black Panther, William Garland). Takerra and her business partner of Heaven Inc., have launched Angelic Script Publishing to give new edgy writers a chance to demonstrate their talent and to give readers and lovers of Contemporary Fiction, new and exciting books to fall in love with. Writing continues to be Takerra's first love however, and her work has been appraised by many veteran African-American writers. Heaven Jacy a beautiful young woman born to drug addicted parents. Her father Sam a pimp and her mother Jhanelle a prostitute don't care what happens to Heaven. Her father sexually abuses her from the age of twelve and soon passes her off to Khalil a 30 year old Bar owner that he owed money to. Khalil becomes so jealous of Heaven that he monitors her phone calls, what she wears, and won't allow her to have any friends and beats her whenever he thinks she gets out of line.Heaven tries to put her trust in a school friend Ricky but she quickly finds out this is a huge mistake. Khalil's boss G a handsome younger man, with so much swagg that Heaven stops in her tracks when she sees him. G can't belive Khalil has this beautiful exotic young woman living with him. G becomes obsessed with Heaven that he does everything in his power just to get next to her.When they finally get together the story takes off. G and Heaven's relationship becomes so passionate, but they go through so many trials and tests to maintain their relationship.Heaven has never felt love like she has with G that she doesn't know how to accept it. This story is so full of action,passion,deceit,and betrayal that you can't stop reading it! I loved this book and Ms.Allen really has a gift with telling a story and I can't wait for her next book she keeps getting better and better Great Job!

Can I just say that this book was so well written. The plot, the characters, the essential story.....I can't even describe it! I so loved this book. The characters of G and Heaven...I felt everything that they went through... First hand I know what it's like when an older guy takes your breath away......it was de ja vu! You know that beautiful love.....wow! Ms Takerra go on girl...... We need a part two to this story, can't wait!

Unfortunately, these types of observations only allow the tuning of the basic common physics laws under stellar conditions with relatively poor precision. The situation is even more worrisome for unknown aspects of the physics and dynamics in stars. These are usually dealt with by using parameterised descriptions of, e.g., the treatments of convection, rotation,angularmomentumtransport,theequationofstate,atomicdi?usion andsettlingofelements,magneto-hydrodynamicalprocesses,andmore.There is a dearth of observational constraints on these processes, thus solar values areoftenassignedtothem.Yetitishardtoimaginethatonesetofparameters is appropriate for the vast range of stars.

The recent research domain of asteroseismology studies the internal structure of stars, which is not directly observable, through the interpretation of the frequency spectra of stellar oscillations. The basic principles of asteroseismology are very similar to those developed by earth seismologists. Stellar interiors can be probed from oscillations because different oscillation modes penetrate to different depths inside the star. Asteroseismology is the only available method to derive the internal structure of the stars with high precision.

This book – the first on asteroseismology – offers a practical guide for graduate students and scientists working in stellar astrophysics. It provides a general introduction to asteroseismology and comprehensive coverage of all its aspects: fundamental theory, observations and observational techniques, methodology of data analysis and seismic interpretations of various classes of multi-periodic pulsating stars.

About the Author

Conny Aerts is full professor at the University of Leuven, Belgium, as well as professor by special appointment on the Chair Asteroseismology, University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Jørgen Christensen-Dalsgaard is full professor of helio- and asteroseismology at Aarhus University, Denmark. Don Kurtz is full professor at the University of Central Lancashire, UK.
Their collective expertise encompasses all aspects of asteroseismology. All three authors are experienced lecturers and participate in numerous scientific committees. Their research teams enjoy international recognition and are heavily involved in various ground-based and satellite projects on asteroseismology.

Humorous Adventures at Saint Ursula's School.

Just Patty is a compilation of the adventures of Patty Wyatt and her best friends Connie Wilder and Priscilla. The book's publication date is 1911.
The young ladies are in their Senior year at St. Ursula's boarding school. The novel opens with the three discovering that they will not be roommates. Each girl has been assigned a new and generally impossible roommate.
The Latin Instructor, Miss Lord, has convinced the Principal, Mrs Trent, to separate the three mischievous friends. The girls plead to be re-united and returned to their former rooms in the West Wing (Paradise Alley). How they convince the Dowager to return them to Paradise Alley is ingenious and amusing.
The girls' adventures continue from exposing a dubious fictitous romance created by the worldly Mae Mertelle to facilitating the romance of gymnasium teacher Miss Jellings and Mr Gilroy with a little judicious Gypsy fortune telling.
It is amusing to read how the worth of a supposed Suitor is judged by his gifting a volume of Marie Correlli's Works. The girls' grousing on being required to attend Friday afternoon lectures on Woman's Rights is interesting when you realise that this book was published prior to the enactment of the 19th Amendment. These young women are aware of unions, strikes and the eight hour day. There is even a schoolgirl foray into the popular belief of spiritualism. Ghost parties and seances give rise to ectoplasmic mischief.
This is a book of clever funny stories of young women at the beginning of the twentieth century.

Jean Webster Amazes

Maybe this is an old title, almost historical, but it was so well written and interesting that you could easily see the events in Patty's life in your minds eye. Jean Webster was one of my mother's favorite writers, and having read another of her books out of curiousity, I had to read more. It's well worth it. Patty charms, tests, and changes you. A very good read.

Definitely not Jean Webster's best...

I picked this up because I happened to come across the author's classic "Daddy Longlegs" and loved it. I was hoping for more of the same. Unfortunately, this book never really "comes together." When it opened, I was wondering if it was a sequel to some other book, as it seemed as if the characters had already been together having adventures. It's a loosely connected series of girl's-school adventures and pranks, mostly led by Patty. But one never really gets a feel for the characters, or WHY Patty gets involved in all these pranks. In one chapter Patty may have apparently good intentions; in another she doesn't seem to care what happens as a consequence of her actions. One never has any real reason to CARE about Patty or her friends. There's no sense of growth in the character (as is very evident in "Daddy Longlegs" and its sequel, "Dear Enemy"). So while I would still recommend the works of Jean Webster, this wouldn't be the place to start!

Lieutenant Khalid Istambuli, the leader of the assassins cried out, “I am Khalid Istambuli, I have killed Pharaoh and I do not fear death.” Late on May 12, 2003 while much of Riyadh was asleep, four vehicles drove through the city. Two carried heavily armed assault teams and three of them were packed with explosives. Their targets were three compounds which housed both non-Muslims and Muslims. Altogether, some 35 people were killed, and over 160 wounded.

best collection ever! My daughter and I love all these movies and the arrangements are excellent- no one is bored! We used these for an outdoor fundraiser and the crowd loved them. I even wrote the arranger nd asked for more.

About the Author
An acclaimed art critic, columnist, and editor, KAY LARSON began her career in journalism in Cambridge, Massachusetts, at The Real Paper, then served as an associate editor at ARTnews and an art critic for the Village Voice. She was the art critic for New York magazine for fourteen years, and has been a frequent contributor to the New York Times. In 1994, she entered Zen practice at a Buddhist monastery in upstate New York. Though Larson has written for many types of publications, Where the Heart Beats is her first book.

Cage Comes Alive

"Where the Heart Beats" is fascinating as both a chronological and spiritual biography. It accomplishes that rarest of feats in a book about an artist: not only putting us in Cage's shoes and his times, but also making his creative process come to life--probing into his motivations, his psychic struggles, and the revelations he experiences in such a way that we can see more clearly how his art came to be what it is. Larson proves herself a skillful, authoritative, and compelling guide. Based on her many years as a reporter in the field, she speaks knowledgeably and compassionately about Cage's impact on the contemporary art, music, and performance scene. Drawing on her own strong Buddhist practice, she illuminates the American Zen world and the profound influence it had on Cage. More important, as a human being, she effectively invites us to engage in a conversation with Cage using our own intelligence and imagination, which is probably the best way to develop a richer understanding of what he was trying to communicate. Her book helps us to value him more and to open up our hearts and minds more fully to his work.

Kay Larson delivers a fascinating story portraying Cage's creative process, connecting us to his heart and mind as she paints a colorful portrait with her elegant writing style. This breathtaking story weaves together threads of cultural history as it conveys the tremendous changes sweeping through American Culture following World War II. A time when the Arts in America let go of tradition as they reinvented themselves. Painters, Dancers, Performance Artists, and Poets changed styles. In addition, a tumultuous period when composers began to touch thousands of lives through a spiritual quest. "WHERE THE HEART BEATS" is refreshing, enjoyable, beautifully written, and Highly Recommended.
